Clashes in Hebron
In the city of Hebron, there is a population of Israeli settlers living in the middle of the city among a Palestinian population in a way that creates daily interaction - unfortunately tense interaction- between both sides. This situation causes the imposition of security proceedings by the Israeli army in the area that has populations from both sides. One of these proceedings is the Israeli closure for security reasons of the Al-Shuahada Street in the heart of the city. The Palestinian community believes that this street needs to be re-opened in order to end the difficulties they go through as a result of the closure.
In recent years, weekly demonstrations take part besides this street, which causes tense situations and clashes between the demonstrators and the Israeli army.
